Job Description:
Purpose:  To develop and lead our children and youth ministries, to bring the Christian principles of faith, hope and love to our children through dynamic worship, education, fellowship, and outreach.

Who We Are: 
We are a large community church in central Connecticut that is looking to grow in the ministry to children and families.  

What We Are Looking For:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative team player who has a love for children and a desire to share the story of our Christian faith.  The ability to teach, lead, encourage, and empower others in the education ministry of the church is essential. This position will lead two Sunday School sessions (9 a.m. and 11 a.m.) supported by almost 40 volunteers each Sunday.  Program includes nursery, preschool and grades K-8.  This salaried, year-round position is 25 hours per week. The mandatory hours are every Sunday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.; a daytime weekly staff meeting; and a once a month evening meeting with CE Board.

Qualifications: 
Enthusiastic and proactive in asking, engaging, and managing volunteers.  Good oral and written communication skills; solid organizational and administrative skills are a must; Sensitive, warm and discreet with children and parents.  The candidate must be adept with Microsoft Office (MS Word, MS Excel) and Internet/Email use.  The candidate must be passionate about Christian education or a person comfortable in his/her Christian faith.  Familiarity with Bible required.
