The First Congregational Church is "the Church on the Green" in Cheshire, Connecticut. For more
than 275 years we have been, and we continue to be, a community devoted
to serving God and the people of the world through the saving grace of
Jesus Christ and the blessing of the Holy Spirit.
More than 800 people belong to the First Congregational Church. Most
live in Cheshire, but others come to worship with us from Wallingford,
Meriden, Prospect, Wolcott, Waterbury, Hamden and farther afield. We extend
a warm welcome to everyone.
We have an active youth ministry,
music ministry, Christian Education (Sunday school) program, opportunities
for Bible study and adult education, program of outreach, and more. We
are a very family-friendly church, and we welcome persons of all ages,
races, genders, national origins, sexual orientations, abilities, and
religious backgrounds.

We are a member of the United Church of Christ. People come to the First
Congregational Church from a wide variety of religious traditions. About
half of our new members were brought up in the Roman Catholic faith. We
invite you to become part of this community, and to bring your special
gifts to our important work.
